The peristaltic flow of a couple stress fluid in an asymmetric channel is considered under the effect of the magnetic field. Viscosity is temperature dependent due to which the energy equation gets coupled with Navier Stokes equation. Viscosity is considered as a linear function of temperature
. The regular perturbation technique is adopted with
being the perturbation parameter. The coupled equations are uncoupled and approximate solutions for stream function, temperature and concentration are obtained. The solution is derived for the cases with and without the effect of the magnetic field. The stream function, temperature and concentration are numerically evaluated and graphically depicted. All the graphs show one or two invariant points where the effect of each parameter is the same. The behaviour to the left and right of this point is the opposite. The invariant point is approximately at y =0.5. The effect of couple stresses is to increase temperature up to the invariant point and then decrease beyond y = 0.5. As couple stresses decrease, velocity decreases.
